PITTSBURGH – The Point Park volleyball team will step out of conference play for a road match at Salem University on Tuesday evening at the T. Edward Davis Gymnasium.
Point Park will be looking to snap a three-match losing skid, falling to conference opponents Wheeling, West Liberty and Fairmont State over the past 11 days. The Pioneers enter the match with a record of 3-12 overall and 2-3 in league play. Salem sits at 8-7 on the season.
Storylines
- Wheeling transfer Nicole Reasbeck is leading the Pioneers on the attack this season with 148 kills, 118 digs and 28 blocks. Reasbeck has a team-high hitting percentage of .167.
- Avery Budrys Rini is second on the team in kills with 131, while Alex Koontz is third with 112.
- Setter Marianna Oyola-Rivera is leading the Pioneers in both assists (385) and digs (127) this season. She also has a team-high 22 service aces on the season.
- Oyola-Rivera ranks second in the MEC in assists per set (7.85).
- Defensively, Point Park has four players with triple-digit digs this season, including Oyola-Rivera (127), Koontz (119), Budrys Rini (119) and Reasbeck (118). Libero's Lily Marchand and Mia Arndt have 93 and 83 digs, respectively, for the Pioneers.
- Patricia Calero-Irizarry (34.0) and Savannah Kitchen (29.0) are leading Point Park in blocks this season.
