PITTSBURGH- The Point Park men's soccer team is preparing for a Sunday evening matchup at home against the Wheeling Cardinals with kick-off scheduled for 5:00 p.m. at Highmark Stadium.

Storylines

• Going into the matchup, Point Park sits at 5-6-1 overall and 5-4-1 in conference play while Wheeling sits at 1-10-1 overall and 0-8-1 in the MEC. The Pioneers are currently ranked fourth in the conference standings while Wheeling sits in eighth.
• In the Pioneers last matchup, Point Park fell 2-0 at home to conference leader Concord on Wednesday afternoon. Statistically, Concord held a 22-7 advantage in total shots, including 7-0 mark in shots on goal. The Pioneers had three players with two shots in the game, including Ido Chalamish, Guilherme Galvao and Lorenzo Grispello.
• The Pioneers are going for the season sweep of the Cardinals as Point Park took the first matchup 4-1 back on Sept. 14 in Wheeling. Fridolin Gefrorer got the Pioneers on the board in the 27^th minute off an assist from Finn Syson before Tomle Doing extended the lead in the 33^rd minute with a goal of his own off a pass from Lennard Schneider. The Pioneers picked up two more goals, both from Ido Chalamish. Giovanni Pezzi and Schneider assisted on the two goals by Chalamish.
•  Keeper Gregorio Capponi is first in the league for saves per game. The Junior from Italy is averaging 5.25 saves per game, with 63 total on the season. Capponi also is registering a .768 save percentage through 12 games played.
• As a team, Point Park is averaging 1.33 goals per game with a total of 16 on the season led by Gefrorer (4) and Chalamish (3). The Pioneers are averaging 12.7 shots per game and have taken 152 shots on the season with 72 coming on goal.
