Volleyball Travels to Wheeling for League Matchup

PITTSBURGH- The Point Park volleyball team will continue their road schedule as the Pioneers travel to Wheeling, West Virginia for a Mountain East Conference matchup against the Cardinals at the Alma Grace McDonough Center- Performance Gym on Friday night. First-serve is scheduled for 7:00 p.m.

Storylines
  • Point Park picked up their second straight MEC win, beating Frostburg State 3-1 on Tuesday night in Maryland. The Pioneers won set one and two (25-23,25-17) before Frostburg State took set three 25-15. Point Park closed out the matchup in set four with a 25-23 win.
  • With the win over Frostburg State, Point Park currently sits at 3-9 overall and 2-0 in league play. On the road the Pioneers are 2-3 against opponents.
  • Nicole Reasbeck had a big day for the Pioneers recording 17 kills and 10 digs to lead Point Park to the win over Frostburg State. The junior transfer recorded 17 kills compared to seven errors on her 37 total attacks in the win (.270 hitting).
  • Last season the Pioneers dropped both contests against Wheeling. The pair first met up on Oct. 4 in Wheeling with the Cardinals winning 3-0 before Wheeling took the second matchup on Nov. 8 3-0 in Pittsburgh.
  • Marianna Oyola-Rivera eclipsed 300 assists on the season bringing her season total to 309. The junior is currently ranked second in the Mountain East. Oyola-Rivera also leads the team in digs (101) and services aces (19).
